  • Beskrivelse: Thanasis Magkanas (Thanasis Vengos) is an honest man, father of two, working as a tax inspector and trying hard to make ends meet. When his wife Anna (Anna Mantzourani) gets a job at a textile plant on the night shift, the couple hardly ever meets anymore. Meanwhile, Thanasis discovers that Anna’s boss, Charalampos Xezoumidis, has practically never paid his taxes, so he tells his superior, who gets paid off by the businessman and has Thanasis transferred to some obscure border village, far from Athens. Poor Thanasis decides to go on a hunger strike and is therefore brought back home. He also wins the support of public opinion, but the Minister of Finance is still hostile towards him and has him laid off. At the same time, Anna and the rest of the workers at the plant go on strike for better working conditions and win the fight - thanks to Thanasis’ efforts.
